I’m linking up with The Gypsy Mama today for 5 Minute Friday. The word is “Empty.” Write for 5 minutes flat prompted by “empty.” No back tracking, no edits. Just writing.
GO
Good days. Bad days. Happy days. Sad days. Full days. Empty days….
Ahhhh, empty days.
Empty of chores. Empty of work. Empty of responsibilities. Empty of rush. Empty of stress. Empty of commitment, except to each other. Empty of schedules and on time and late. Oh how I long for empty days.
Empty days full of sunshine, warm summer breezes, green grass tickling toes, a water sprinkler attached to the garden hose. Empty days full of lemonade, lunch in the shade, naps in the sun. Empty days full of nothing more important than tickles and snuggles and laughter and fun.
Books read under the canopy of the trees. A trip around the yard following buzzy bees. Holes dug in the garden with a bright yellow shovel. Seeds planted to mark a new beginning.
Days that are empty are full of happiness and time and love for each other.
Oh how I long for empty days.
STOP

Lovely post, yours is above mine on the linky. I like your perspective … empty to be full. Great job!
Thank you!
How I wish for empty days too – they are few and far between since we started our family
Same here. Although now, those empty days are so much more fun with my little ones.
I agree. I would not exchange those days for empty ones
Nancy, beautifully said! Books read under the canopy of trees . . . oh, I can picture it now!
Thank you Sarah.
Love this kind of an empty day! Longing for one myself friend . . . longing!!!
