Staying on track

30 Jun

Last week, Husband sent me an excited, adamant text message mid-way through the day stating that he was done with crappy eating and he was cleaning up his act.

I jumped on his band wagon, eager to enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Continue reading

The problem with a picky eater

13 Mar

My daughter is a picky eater. She’s not just picky about what she eats. She’s picky about when she eats and how much she eats.

There are certain things she doesn’t like on certain days. And on other days, these certain things are her favourite. I guess it depends on her mood. I’ve been warned by fellow parents who have older girls that the moodiness starts way before puberty hits. Continue reading

Brown rice is not my friend

6 Dec

I’ve been trying to feed my family in the healthiest way possible. When it comes to healthy food, there are some things my kids will eat, and some things they won’t.

Quinoa is one of those things that go over like gang busters. Brown rice, not so much. Continue reading

Sacrifice

5 Oct

So I rushed out of the house this morning. And not because we started late. My son was already at daycare, having left early with his daddy, and my daughter and I were enjoying some cuddle time while we watched Franklin and Caillou. Of course, the clock kept ticking and we ended up rushing out to the car without packing snacks and drinks for the afternoon. Continue reading
