It was a beautiful Thanksgiving Monday. We were all caught up on chores (sort of). All the stores were closed.
What’s a Canadian family to do?
A fall fair of course.
The kids wanted pumpkins. We wanted a day in the sunshine and for the kids to burn off their energy outside.
So, we headed to the “countryside”. It certainly felt that way, anyway. But it was hardly 30 minutes outside of Toronto, and from the Lookout at the farm, you could see Mississauga. So we weren’t that far out in the country (which is nice for us city folk who quickly miss the hustle and bustle when we’re not in the thick of it).
The colours were beautiful. So many reds and yellows and oranges. Walking up the hill to the Lookout was like walking into a landscape painting with colours climbing into the sky to light it on fire. (My photography cannot do it justice.)
The kids had lots of fun playing on the tractors and with the tractors in the giant sandbox.
And we enjoyed a wonderful barbeque for lunch (sausages and kettle chips).
It was an excellent day. Thanks Springridge! We’ll definitely be back.
