Cuba – c’est fini

From my journal: Thursday, September 28, 2012.

Our last day. We have checked out of our room and are lounging by the pool as a way to kill time.

Big Sister has finally made a friend, although the little girl only speaks Spanish. They have formed a bond and seem to enjoy each others’ company despite the language barrier. Big Sister seems much happier today than she has throughout the week. I’m not sure if it’s because of her new friend or because she knows that today we are going home.

It has been a long week, and though we are not necessarily looking forward to the plane ride, wait times and lugging two tired kids through two airports, we are all looking forward to seeing the inside of my father’s van once we arrive in Toronto.
