Exhausted from a day of fun at an indoor amusement park, they sleep like little angels in the backseat on the way home.
It’s past dinner time and they are probably too full from ice cream and slushies to eat dinner anyway. But the day was good.
I’m sitting in the front seat, waiting for my husband to come out of the store that we have stopped at on the way home and the kids’ CD in the CD player is singing the words “Let’s pretend that this day never ends.”
I’m on board with that. The love and joy that I am feeling at this moment is all wrapped up in those beautiful little faces sleeping in the backseat. I’m going to pretend that this day never ends.
