Linking up with Lisa-Jo over on her site today.
It’s Five Minute Friday. The word is jump. Here’s how to play:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back to Lisa-Jo’s post and invite others to join in.
3. And then, absolutely no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community...
Jump in. Get started. Dig deep. Stop wavering. Pick a thing and do it. Decisions, decisions. When young in life and charging forward, I gave the advice, “You just have to jump in. Stop standing on the bank and jump in. You can do it. You just think you can’t because you’re too afraid to jump.”
Easy advice offered to someone standing on the bank of their life as I swam forth and really lived.
Looking back now, I could use that advice. I could use someone out there swimming around and enjoying the decisions they made no matter how scary to yell back at me and say, “Just JUMP! There is nothing to be afraid of!”
Maybe that person should be me. Maybe I should take my own advice and yell back at myself from that place where I lived, really lived. That young woman didn’t see life heading toward this bank where I have sat and waited for the right time to jump back in. This bank is has little to offer. It’s safe, solid, but without life, without passion.
Maybe it’s time to jump back in and swim for my life.
Now it’s your turn. GO!
