Post to Win on UsedEverywhere.com!

I’ve been cleaning out lately. We (I) have a ton of stuff that needs to be removed from our basement storage. Kids’ clothes, baby equipment, kids’ toys, STUFF.

But what to do with it all?

Last week, I contacted a local clothing collection company to haul away three bags and two boxes of stuff.

But there’s still more.

This coming weekend, I’m taking a bunch of stuff to a mom to mom sale.

But it doesn’t end there. There is still more stuff. And there will always be more stuff. And getting rid of and managing stuff is taking up Way.Too.Much.Of.My.Time.

And is it worth it? Why not just throw it all out?

OK, I can’t actually do that because I suffer from guilt.

Most of this stuff that I am storing is still good. There’s nothing wrong with it. I just don’t need it anymore. (Although my kids try to convince me otherwise about the boxes and boxes of toys.)

But someone else might need it or want it. And then it won’t go into landfill.

Motivation in managing all this stuff is a factor for me. Sometimes I’m in the mood to deal with it. But more often than not, I’d rather just close the door to the basement and pretend the stuff is not there.

But here’s my motivation: The final deadline to enter Post to WIN on UsedEverywhere.com is coming up on September 30th.

They are giving away $4,000 in prizes to four lucky winners who sell, trade or give away household items on any UsedEverywhere.com local city site.

Wanna get in on these great prizes? You just need to post an ad listing used household items you want to sell. Each posting results in one entry. And there’s no limit to how many items you can post.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Find your local Used site here.
  2. Select the Place an Ad tab.
  3. Select the Household Category below the Stuff Classifieds heading.
  4. Choose a specific category for your item.
  5. Complete listing details and remember you must include an image of the item to qualify.

That’s it! Someone browsing the site will see your stuff, collect it from you thus releasing you from the pain of managing and dealing with said stuff AND you could win great prizes!

Excuse me, I must head over to UsedEverywhere.com and get my ads posted!

The inspiration you need: Secrets of an Oranized Mom

I received a book on review recently. The title: Secrets of an Organized Mom.

Let me tell you, this book, written by Barbara Reich, has been the inspiration and guidance I have been looking for. Without having even fully implemented Barbara’s strategy, I have sorted closets, organized play spaces, and reclaimed drawers and cupboards.

Right from the first page, Barbara had my attention. And not just because being organized and staying on top of the stuff that families accumulate is every mother’s dream. But because, she gets it. She’s a mom herself, which of course gives her that inner understanding of what other moms are struggling with. Continue reading
